In 2020-2021, 36,301 people earned their degree in design and applied arts, making the major the 36th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, design and applied arts graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $31,426 and had an average of $25,481 in loans still to pay off.
Across Georgia, there were 2,046 design and applied arts graduates with average earnings and debt of $32,584 and $26,752 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 1,028 design and applied arts graduates with average earnings and debt of $37,491 and $29,433 respectively.

Out of the 9 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in Georgia for Design for a Bachelor’s that were part of this year’s ranking, Georgia Institute of Technology - Main Campus landed the #1 spot on the list. This large school is located in Atlanta, Georgia, and it awarded 61 bachelors’s design degrees in 2020-2021.
Georgia Tech not only placed well in this ranking. It is also #1 on our “Best Design & Applied Arts Bachelor’s Degree Schools in Georgia” list.According to our most recent data, Georgia Institute of Technology - Main Campus supports 39,771 students, and 430 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 240 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. GaSou is located in Statesboro, Georgia and, has a large student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 44 bachelors’s design degrees to qualified students.
