It’s not easy to decide which college to attend when there so many options available for veterans. College Factual has developed its “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Design for a Bachelor’s” ranking as one item you can use to help make this decision.

In 2020-2021, 36,301 people earned their degree in design and applied arts, making the major the 36th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, design and applied arts graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $31,426 and had an average of $25,481 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Southwest region, there were 3,286 design and applied arts graduates with average earnings and debt of $29,079 and $23,287 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 1,473 design and applied arts graduates with average earnings and debt of $40,112 and $26,227 respectively.

This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Design for a Bachelor’s” ranking analyzed 33 colleges that offered a degree in design and applied arts. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great design and applied arts programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.

ASU - Tempe did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #3 on our “Best Design & Applied Arts Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the Southwest Region” list.Our most recent data shows that 7,566 of the 74,795 students enrolled at Arizona State University - Tempe were GI Bill® students, of which 3,828 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. University of Oklahoma not only placed well in this ranking.
