In 2020-2021, 16,778 people earned their degree in film, video and photographic arts, making the major the 62nd most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, film, video and photographic arts graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $24,170 and had an average of $25,804 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Southwest region, there were 1,036 film, video and photographic arts graduates with average earnings and debt of $23,676 and $29,396 respectively. At the associate degree level specifically, there were 167 film, video and photographic arts graduates with average earnings and debt of $35,810 and $18,681 respectively.

This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Film for an Associate” ranking looked at 5 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in film, video and photographic arts. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great film, video and photographic arts programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.

The school came in at #2 for the Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Film for an Associate. OCCC is a fairly large public school situated in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. It awarded 21 associates’s film degrees in 2020-2021.

OCCC did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #2 on our “Best Film, Video & Photographic Arts Associate Degree Schools in the Southwest Region” list.Of the 12,227 students enrolled at OCCC, 754 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Located in Tucson, Arizona, this fairly large public school awarded 21 degrees to qualified associates’s film students in 2020-2021.

Pima County Community College District also made our “Best Film, Video & Photographic Arts Associate Degree Schools in the Southwest Region” list, coming in at #4.According to our most recent data, Pima Community College supports 15,544 students, and 853 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 426 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $1,036. During this same period, 0 students received funds through the Yellow Ribbon Program. You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Central New Mexico Community College. It ranked #4 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Film for an Associate list. Albuquerque, New Mexico is the setting for this fairly large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out associates’s film degrees to 12 students in 2020-2021.

CNM also took the #3 spot in our “Best Film, Video & Photographic Arts Associate Degree Schools in the Southwest Region” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 839 of the 21,398 students enrolled at Central New Mexico Community College were GI Bill® students, of which 390 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $1,171. During this same period, 0 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. Students may be able to receive credit for their military training, depending on their background.

It ranked #5 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Film for an Associate list. KD Conservatory College of Film and Dramatic Arts is a small school located in Dallas, Texas that handed out 16 associates’s film degrees in 2020-2021.

As a testament to the quality of education offered at KD Conservatory, the school also landed the #5 spot in our “Best Film, Video & Photographic Arts Associate Degree Schools in the Southwest Region” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 16 of the 71 students enrolled at KD Conservatory College of Film and Dramatic Arts were GI Bill® students, of which 11 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients.
