Illinois State University tops the 2021 list of our schools in Illinois that are best for non-traditional music students. Illinois State is a fairly large public school located in the midsize suburb of Normal. Illinois State also took the #2 spot in our Best Colleges for Music in Illinois rankings.
The school has a low student loan default rate of 1.7%. Approximately 7,464 students take at least one class online at Illinois State. 2,500 students are part time.
Western Illinois University comes in at #2 in this year's ranking. Located in the remote town of Macomb, WIU is a public college with a medium-sized student population. WIU did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #5 on our Best Colleges for Music in Illinois list.
About 3.2% of WIU students default on their loans in three years, which is lower than average. Approximately 4,203 students take at least one class online at WIU. There are roughly 1,874 part time students in attendance at WIU.
DePaul University comes in at #3 in this year's ranking. Located in the large city of Chicago, DePaul is a private not-for-profit college with a very large student population. DePaul also took the #4 spot in our Best Colleges for Music in Illinois rankings.
About 1.0% of DePaul students default on their loans in three years, which is lower than average. Approximately 8,996 students take at least one class online at DePaul. About 3,547 of the students at DePaul are attending part time.
Millikin University earned the #4 spot in our 2021 rankings. Located in the city of Decatur, Millikin is a private not-for-profit school with a small student population. Millikin also made our Best Colleges for Music in Illinois list, coming in at #6.
