Illinois State University tops the 2021 list of our schools in Illinois that are best for non-traditional music students. Illinois State is a very large public school located in the medium-sized suburb of Normal. Illinois State also took the #2 spot in our Best Colleges for Music in Illinois rankings.
The student loan default rate at Illinois State is lower than is typical, just 1.7% of students default in three years. There are approximately 7,464 students at Illinois State that take at least one class online. 2,500 of Illinois State students are attending part time.

Western Illinois University comes in at #2 in this year's ranking. Located in the remote town of Macomb, WIU is a public school with a moderately-sized student population. WIU did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #5 on our Best Colleges for Music in Illinois list.
About 3.2% of WIU students default on their loans in three years, which is lower than average. There are approximately 4,203 students at WIU that take at least one class online. 1,874 of WIU students are attending part time.

DePaul University comes in at #3 in this year's ranking. Located in the city of Chicago, DePaul is a private not-for-profit college with a very large student population. DePaul also took the #4 spot in our Best Colleges for Music in Illinois rankings.

Millikin University earned the #4 spot in our 2021 rankings. Located in the city of Decatur, Millikin is a private not-for-profit school with a small student population. Millikin also made our Best Colleges for Music in Illinois list, coming in at #6.
