Music is the 43rd most popular major in the country with 25,910 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, music graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $27,160 and had an average of $24,560 in loans still to pay off.

Across New Jersey, there were 593 music graduates with average earnings and debt of $27,273 and $26,136 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 433 music graduates with average earnings and debt of $40,273 and $26,463 respectively.

This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in New Jersey for Music for a Bachelor’s” ranking analyzed 11 colleges that offered a degree in music. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent music programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.
