It’s not easy to decide which college to attend when there so many options available for veterans. College Factual has developed its “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Music for a Bachelor’s” ranking as one item you can use to help make this decision.
In 2020-2021, 25,910 people earned their degree in music, making the major the 43rd most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, music graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $27,160 and had an average of $24,560 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southwest region, there were 2,896 music graduates with average earnings and debt of $33,339 and $23,625 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 1,677 music graduates with average earnings and debt of $40,112 and $26,227 respectively.
For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Music for a Bachelor’s” ranking, we looked at 38 colleges that offer a degree in music. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality music programs as well as strong veteran support.

Houston, Texas is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out bachelors’s music degrees to 81 students in 2020-2021.
