Music is the 43rd most popular major in the country with 25,910 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, music graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $27,160 and had an average of $24,560 in loans still to pay off.
Across California, there were 3,612 music graduates with average earnings and debt of $23,084 and $22,049 respectively.
For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in California for Music” ranking, we looked at 37 colleges that offer a degree in music. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent music programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.

California Lutheran University ranked #24 on this year’s Most Veteran Friendly in California for Music list. CLU is a private not-for-profit institution located in Thousand Oaks, California. The school has a small population, and it awarded 19 ’s degrees in 2020-2021.
