When it comes to choosing a college, veterans have a lot of options - but not all of them are good. In 2020-2021, 149,215 visual and performing arts students received their degree, making the major the 10th most popular in the country. In 2019-2020, visual and performing arts graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $26,700 and had an average of $25,051 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southeast region, there were 31,680 visual and performing arts graduates with average earnings and debt of $25,309 and $25,563 respectively. At the associate degree level specifically, there were 2,714 visual and performing arts graduates with average earnings and debt of $34,328 and $20,384 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for Visual & Performing Arts for an Associate” ranking looked at 20 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in visual and performing arts. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great visual and performing arts programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.

This fairly large school is located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and it awarded 20 associates’s visual and performing arts degrees in 2020-2021.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at Keiser University - Ft Lauderdale, the school also landed the #11 spot in our “Best Visual & Performing Arts Associate Degree Schools in the Southeast Region” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 75 of the 20,330 students enrolled at Keiser University - Ft Lauderdale were GI Bill® students, of which 56 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients.
