When it comes to choosing a college, veterans have a lot of options - but not all of them are good. College Factual has developed its “Most Veteran Friendly in West Virginia for Visual & Performing Arts for a Bachelor’s” ranking as one item you can use to help make this decision.
In 2020-2021, 149,215 visual and performing arts students received their degree, making the major the 10th most popular in the country. In 2019-2020, visual and performing arts graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $26,700 and had an average of $25,051 in loans still to pay off.
Across West Virginia, there were 405 visual and performing arts graduates with average earnings and debt of $24,509 and $24,667 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 347 visual and performing arts graduates with average earnings and debt of $39,642 and $26,170 respectively.

West Virginia University is a large public school situated in Morgantown, West Virginia. It awarded 196 bachelors’s visual and performing arts degrees in 2020-2021.
WVU also took the #1 spot in our “Best Visual & Performing Arts Bachelor’s Degree Schools in West Virginia” ranking.Among the 26,269 students enrolled at WVU, 1,033 are GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 458 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $8,599. On top of their other funding sources, 66 students received funds through the Yellow Ribbon Program.

The school came in at #2 for the Most Veteran Friendly in West Virginia for Visual & Performing Arts for a Bachelor’s. Shepherd University is a small school located in Shepherdstown, West Virginia that handed out 24 bachelors’s visual and performing arts degrees in 2020-2021.
Shepherd University not only placed well in this ranking. It is also #2 on our “Best Visual & Performing Arts Bachelor’s Degree Schools in West Virginia” list.Among the 3,159 students enrolled at Shepherd University, 152 are GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Marshall University is a public institution located in Huntington, West Virginia. The school has a fairly large population, and it awarded 42 bachelors’s degrees in 2020-2021.
