In 2019-2020, visual and performing arts graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $26,700 and had an average of $25,051 in loans still to pay off.
Across Arizona, there were 7,364 visual and performing arts graduates with average earnings and debt of $27,745 and $22,550 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 1,538 visual and performing arts graduates with average earnings and debt of $41,087 and $27,181 respectively.

Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent visual and performing arts programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Arizona State University - Tempe. It ranked #1 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in Arizona for Visual & Performing Arts for a Bachelor’s list. ASU - Tempe is a large school located in Tempe, Arizona that handed out 651 bachelors’s visual and performing arts degrees in 2020-2021.
In addition to being on our arizona bachelor’s degree vets studying visual & performing arts list, ASU - Tempe has also earned the #1 rank in our “Best Visual & Performing Arts Bachelor’s Degree Schools in Arizona” ranking.According to our most recent data, Arizona State University - Tempe supports 74,795 students, and 7,566 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 3,828 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $6,068. To help with additional expenses, 672 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. Eligible students may be able to receive credit for their military training.
The undergrad student loan default rate at the school is [DEFAULT_RATE_STRING]%, which is quite low when compared to the national default rate of 10.1%. The school has an excellent freshman retention rate of 86%, which means students like the school well enough to return for a second year.

Out of the 4 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in Arizona for Visual & Performing Arts for a Bachelor’s that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Arizona landed the #2 spot on the list. This large school is located in Tucson, Arizona, and it awarded 262 bachelors’s visual and performing arts degrees in 2020-2021.
University of Arizona did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #2 on our “Best Visual & Performing Arts Bachelor’s Degree Schools in Arizona” list.Our most recent data shows that 2,131 of the 45,601 students enrolled at University of Arizona were GI Bill® students, of which 1,478 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $8,880. To help with additional expenses, 31 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Students may be able to receive credit for their military training, depending on their background.
Students who start out at the school are likely to stick around. The freshman retention rate is 85%.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Northern Arizona University. The school came in at #3 for the Most Veteran Friendly in Arizona for Visual & Performing Arts for a Bachelor’s. Northern Arizona University is a large public school situated in Flagstaff, Arizona. It awarded 185 bachelors’s visual and performing arts degrees in 2020-2021.
NAU also made our “Best Visual & Performing Arts Bachelor’s Degree Schools in Arizona” list, coming in at #3.Of the 29,566 students enrolled at NAU, 1,055 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 622 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $6,378. During this same period, 56 students received funds through the Yellow Ribbon Program. NAU does offer credit for military training for eligible students.
The low undergrad student loan default rate of [DEFAULT_RATE_STRING]% is a good sign that students have an easier time paying off their loans than they might at other schools. For comparison, the national default rate is 10.1%.

In addition to receiving other benefits, 5 students received funds through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Grand Canyon University offers credit for military training for eligible students.
