It’s not easy to decide which college to attend when there so many options available for veterans. College Factual has developed its “Most Veteran Friendly in South Carolina for Visual & Performing Arts” ranking as one item you can use to help make this decision.
Visual & Performing Arts is one of the most popular majors in the nation, ranking 10th of all the majors we analyze. In 2020-2021, 149,215 degrees were awarded to students with this major. In 2019-2020, visual and performing arts graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $26,700 and had an average of $25,051 in loans still to pay off.
Across South Carolina, there were 1,446 visual and performing arts graduates with average earnings and debt of $25,000 and $27,215 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in South Carolina for Visual & Performing Arts” ranking analyzed 11 colleges that offered a degree in visual and performing arts. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great visual and performing arts programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend University of South Carolina - Columbia. It ranked #1 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in South Carolina for Visual & Performing Arts list. UofSC is a public institution located in Columbia, South Carolina. The school has a large population, and it awarded 324 ’s degrees in 2020-2021.
UofSC also took the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Among the 35,470 students enrolled at UofSC, 1,609 are GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 651 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $8,453. Located in Rock Hill, South Carolina, this medium-sized public school awarded 122 diplomas to qualified ’s visual and performing arts students in 2020-2021.

Clemson University is a public institution located in Clemson, South Carolina. The school has a large population, and it awarded 159 ’s degrees in 2020-2021.
Clemson did well in our major quality rankings, too. College of Charleston is a fairly large school located in Charleston, South Carolina that handed out 163 ’s visual and performing arts degrees in 2020-2021.
C of C did well in our major quality rankings, too. Out of the 11 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in South Carolina for Visual & Performing Arts that were part of this year’s ranking, Coastal Carolina University landed the #5 spot on the list. Located in Conway, South Carolina, this fairly large public school handed out 105 degrees to qualified ’s visual and performing arts students in 2020-2021.
Coastal Carolina University also took the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 684 of the 10,118 students enrolled at Coastal Carolina University were GI Bill® students, of which 329 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $10,232. To help with additional expenses, 28 students received funds through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Anderson University South Carolina is a private not-for-profit institution located in Anderson, South Carolina. The school has a small population, and it awarded 52 ’s degrees in 2020-2021.

Charleston Southern University landed the #8 spot on the 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in South Carolina for Visual & Performing Arts ranking. CSU is located in Charleston, South Carolina and, has a small student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 19 ’s visual and performing arts degrees to qualified students.
