In 2019-2020, computer programming graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $45,629 and had an average of $27,450 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southeast region, there were 2,552 computer programming graduates with average earnings and debt of $41,474 and $30,273 respectively.

Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent computer programming programs, but they also cost less that schools of similar quality.

Clemson University did quite well in the 2023 Best Value Programming Schools in the Southeast Region For Those Making $30-$48k ranking, coming in at #15. Located in Clemson, South Carolina, this large public school awarded 8 diplomas to qualified ’s programming students in 2020-2021.
Clemson also made our “Best Computer Programming Schools in the Southeast Region” list, coming in at #6. The estimated yearly cost for Clemson University is $16,650 for southeast region programming students whose families make $30-$48k.
The school has an excellent freshman retention rate of 94%, which means students like the school well enough to return for a second year. The low undergrad student loan default rate of 1.7% is a good sign that students have an easier time paying off their loans than they might at other schools.
