In 2020-2021, 935 people earned their degree in American Sign Language (ASL), making the major the 551st most popular in the United States.

At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 153 American Sign Language (ASL) graduates with average earnings and debt of $39,682 and $26,217 respectively.

This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly for ASL for a Bachelor’s” ranking analyzed 11 colleges that offered a degree in American Sign Language (ASL). The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great American Sign Language (ASL) programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.

University of Rochester did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #2 on our “Best American Sign Language (ASL) Bachelor’s Degree Schools” list.According to our most recent data, University of Rochester supports 11,741 students, and 7 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 3 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. Liberty University is a large private not-for-profit school situated in Lynchburg, Virginia. It awarded 19 bachelors’s ASL degrees in 2020-2021.

Utah Valley University ranked #8 on this year’s Most Veteran Friendly for ASL for a Bachelor’s list. Orem, Utah is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out bachelors’s ASL degrees to 29 students in 2020-2021.

UVU did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #11 on our “Best American Sign Language (ASL) Bachelor’s Degree Schools” list.Of the 40,936 students enrolled at UVU, 813 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 379 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $4,550. To help with additional expenses, 0 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. Eligible students may be able to receive credit for their military training.
