In 2020-2021, 2,724 people earned their degree in American Sign Language, making the major the 199th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, American Sign Language graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $32,250 and had an average of $24,208 in loans still to pay off.

Gallaudet University is located in Washington, District of Columbia and, has a small student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 77 ’s ASL degrees to qualified students.
Gallaudet did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #1 on our “Best American Sign Language Schools” list. It costs about $16,833 for ASL students with aid per year to attend Gallaudet University.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend University of North Florida. The school came in at #2 for the Best Value ASL Schools For Those Getting Aid. UNF is a fairly large school located in Jacksonville, Florida that handed out 35 ’s ASL degrees in 2020-2021.

Out of the 25 schools in the Best Value ASL Schools For Those Getting Aid that were part of this year’s ranking, Weber State University landed the #3 spot on the list. Ogden, Utah is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out ’s ASL degrees to 9 students in 2020-2021.
WSU also took the #16 spot in our “Best American Sign Language Schools” ranking. It costs about $11,647 for ASL students with aid per year to attend Weber State University.
