In 2020-2021, 2,724 people earned their degree in American Sign Language, making the major the 199th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, American Sign Language graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $32,250 and had an average of $24,208 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Plains States region, there were 165 American Sign Language graduates with average earnings and debt of $30,321 and $26,644 respectively.

For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Plains States Region for ASL” ranking, we looked at 3 colleges that offer a degree in American Sign Language. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality American Sign Language programs as well as strong veteran support.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend William Woods University. The school came in at #1 for the Most Veteran Friendly in the Plains States Region for ASL. William Woods is a small school located in Fulton, Missouri that handed out 50 ’s ASL degrees in 2020-2021.

William Woods did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] on our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list.Our most recent data shows that 56 of the 2,114 students enrolled at William Woods University were GI Bill® students, of which 29 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $8,488. To help with additional expenses, 1 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. Eligible students may be able to receive credit for their military training.

Located in Saint Paul, Minnesota, this medium-sized public school awarded 26 diplomas to qualified ’s ASL students in 2020-2021.

As a testament to the quality of education offered at Saint Paul College, the school also landed the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 79 of the 5,823 students enrolled at Saint Paul College were GI Bill® students, of which 50 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. St. Kate’s did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] on our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list.Our most recent data shows that 55 of the 4,277 students enrolled at St Catherine University were GI Bill® students, of which 26 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $9,157. During this same period, 2 students received funds through the Yellow Ribbon Program.
