When it comes to choosing a college, veterans have a lot of options - but not all of them are good. College Factual has developed its “Most Veteran Friendly for Science, Tech & Society” ranking as one item you can use to help make this decision.
In 2020-2021, 1,095 people earned their degree in science, technology and society, making the major the 232nd most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, science, technology and society graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $41,177 and had an average of $22,529 in loans still to pay off.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly for Science, Tech & Society” ranking looked at 21 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in science, technology and society. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent science, technology and society programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.
When determining these rankings, we looked at things such as overall quality of the science, technology and society program at the school, veteran affordability, and veteran satisfaction. For more information, check out our ranking methodology.

Out of the 21 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly for Science, Tech & Society that were part of this year’s ranking, Georgetown University landed the #1 spot on the list. This large school is located in Washington, District of Columbia, and it awarded 132 ’s science, tech and society degrees in 2020-2021.
